SECOND FLOOR  Resource Library 

Houses over 2000 volumes of books about Africans and African American history and culture.

EXHIBITS

Music Of My People
The history of African American music and some of the pioneers of the past and present are displayed in this exhibit.  African Americans have made great contributions to music world wide.

Local History
A number of exhibits of those who achieved locally African-American pioneers in education, social work, community work, civil rights, law, medicine, the military, early clubs, organizations, businesses, news articles and collectibles.

Underground Railroad
A setting with Harriet Tubman in the woods- talking about the underground railroad.

Sports Archive
A very clever design for this room:  a miniature football field and basketball court with lots of pictures, artifacts, trophies and information on local sports legends.  Also, exhibited is a local "Hall of Fame."
